Family therapy is offered to any composition of families and can be individualized to address presenting problems toward the development of healthier functioning. Creating and supporting change is the focus, whether it is regarding conflict resolution, boundary clarification, communication, behavioral acting out, parenting education, addressing developmental stages, blended family dynamics, transitions or arising crises. Adjunct or complimentary interventions may be determined for each family as needed.

Both Couples and Family Therapy are based upon several theoretical frameworks including Family Systems Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness.  Influential leaders in the field include the classic works of Murray Bowen, Salvador Minuchin, Jay Haley, Richard Swartz, John Kabat-Zinn, the Gottman’s, Howard Markman, Scott Stanley and Susan Blumberg, to name just a few.
